Sophia and Scarlet Stallone’s trainer reveals their exact workout and how you can replicate it to get fit!

Getting those toned abs definitely don’t come easy! Even if you are the daughters of Sylvester Stallone. But, their gym sessions with trainer Kevin Mejia have most definitely paid off. The Dogpound LA celeb trainer took us inside the sisters’ workouts and we’re sharing every single move with you!

The 2 young ladies have been putting in hard work at Dogpound gym in West Hollywood Kevin Mejia said. The darling daughters of renowned actor, Sylvester Stallone were photographed during an  outdoor workout at the go-to celeb gym in  August, and they’ve never looked better. Therefore, we had to enlist Mejia, founding trainer of Dogpound LA, to spill the beans on the Stallone sisters’ fitness secrets. Mejia has also worked with Scarlet and Sophia’s sister Sistine Stallone, as well as other Hollywood celebrities like Hailey Baldwin and Sophia Richie.

“Our sessions are filled with jokes and a good time, coupled with the great intensity, and they bring it every time we workout,” Mejia said about what it’s like to train Scarlet, 18, and Sophia, 23. “They conquer some of the toughest exercises in the gym with ease. We focus sessions on consistent toning and core work. They love the bands, but never shy away from weights,” he admitted, adding, “I always remind my clients, as long as you bring intensity you’ll conquer your goal in the gym and that guides my work with them.”

Mejia went on to describe what a “typical” workout is like with the Stallone sisters. “For a standard workout, we’ll start out with some type of activation exercises, such as bridges or monster walks, because a great workout always starts with a great warm up,” he said. Editor’s note: Each workout is detailed below so you can try at home.

“After activation work, we’ll go into single sided work like, ankle weighted rainbow kicks,” Mejia said, explaining, “This allows for a mind muscle connection, which a lot of people lack in the gym — but it later helps people contract or squeeze the right muscles.”

Next up, Mejia detailed his strength work set he instructs the sisters to do. “It’s a set or two of wide stance squats and chest presses into flies,” he explained, noting that the last 15-20 minutes of each session is “straight core work.” For example: “Exercises like hanging knee raises are one of my favorite exercises to give them — and to most of my clients, because it lengthens the body and targets the lower abs along with improving grip strength,” he revealed. “And then we usually end with a fun game of HORSE in basketball!”

Mejia added that the women also do sets of squats while carrying a “hydrocore bag” over their shoulders. Tip: “The weighted bag uses water to challenge stability and it’s super comfy and easy to travel with.”

Sistene Stallone’s workout is not for the faint-hearted!

Mejia’s breakdown of each workout mentioned above:

Bridges: “Laying flat on your back, bring legs in line with your shoulders. From here, you are going to slightly tilt your lower back, followed by striking your glutes straight into the air until glutes are fully contracted. — Bridges are great at the beginning of a workout or at the end as finishers. Shoot for about 20 reps for about 3-4 sets.”

Monster Walks: “Using a small resistance band, slip both legs into the band and bring the band right above your knees. From here you are going to bring your feet right in line with your shoulders, then come into an athletic squat position. From here, you’e going to take a big lateral side step and have the other foot follow back into a neutral athletic position. — Shoot for 10-15 steps in a direction (right or left) then back the other way to where you began for 2 to 3 sets.”

Ankle weighted rainbow kicks: “Place ankle weights anywhere from 1lbs to 4lbs on the ankle. From here, you’re going to be in an all 4s position on the ground or mat. Then, straighten out whatever leg you desire first. While engaging your core and locking out your elbows, you’re going to lift that leg up and then rainbow it over to the opposite side, then back over. — Shoot for about 15-20 reps for 3 sets.”

Wide stance squats: “With a barbell or kettlebell you’re going to bring your feet outside of the shoulders this time while slightly pointing your toes out. From here, you’re going to perform a squat. The wide stance allows for targeting the glutes and inner thighs. Keeping the core engaged, you’re going to lower down and shoot through the glutes on the way up. — Stay relatively light with the weight and shoot for about 15 reps for 3-4 sets.”

Chest presses into flies: “Using very light dumbbells, you’re going to lay back on a bench, arms come up in the air and legs wide for a solid base. From here, you’re going to fly those arms out, all while keeping your elbows slightly bent, then bringing them back right in front of your chest. The cue I give here is to pretend like you are giving a big bear a hug.”

Knee raises: “Hang from any type of supported pull bar. While completely hanging, lift the knees into the chest while squeezing the abs as hard as you can, then lower your legs. This is a tough exercise for people since not everyone has really good grip strength to hold their bodies up for short period of time, so it’s great to develop grip strength. — Shoot for about 15-20 reps for  4 sets.”

Leg raise into a candle stick core move: “For beginners, start off on the ground laying completely flat, preferably holding onto something supported. From here, as you lift your legs into the air you’re going to ‘kick the ceiling up’ which is the ‘candlestick part’ — meaning your hips come off the ground. Then, lower your hips back onto the ground while lowering your legs together and then lifting again before they touch the ground. Shoot for about 20 reps for 3 sets back into a neutral athletic position. Shoot for 10-15 steps in a direction (right or left) then back the other way to where you began. Try to do 2 to 3 sets.”

Some Of These Celebrities Won’t Be Able To Make A Comeback After This

It’s safe to say that the year 2020 has been eventful to say the least! While many stars have been stuck in quarantine, that hasn’t stopped some celebrities from being cancelled. There have been rumors about Ellen Degeneres’ backstage conduct for years but now she’s being investigated for alleged bad behavior. Many fans had a serious issue with Doja Cat’s new song and Jeffree Star’s new makeup pallet. Victoria Fuller took part in an unfortunately named ad campaign, while Lea Michele was called out for being a mean girl behind the scenes of Glee. Arielle Charnas decided a pandemic was a great time for a vacation, and Sherry Pie has been accused of masquerading as a casting director. Some stars like Vanessa Hudgens and Evangeline Lily were called out for not taking COVID-19 seriously, while Hannah Brown and Jimmy Fallon made headlines for being insensitive. Chase Stokes tried to say his online accounts were compromised, while J.K. Rowling was unapologetic about comments that caused her own fan sites to disown her. Abby Lee Miller has found herself in hot water yet again while fans have been watching Tyra Banks on “America’s Next Top Model” with a new perspective.

Rumor: Nicki Minaj and Cardi B collab on new song! This could be a record breaker.

Published

on

Cardi B Nicki Manoj

Cardi B might have accidentally posted a topless pic on Instagram yesterday, but there’s much more shocking news to discuss today. Rumor’s are percolating that foes-turned-frenemies (turned back to foes), Nicki Minaj and Cardi B may once again be shifting their relationship dynamic to a friendlier zone — and burying the hatchet, with a new song. The rumor’s are unsubstantiated but please, let me live with the idea for a moment.

In case anyone forgot about the backstory behind the beef, the tension between these two talented artists reached peak during New York Fashion Week back in September 2018. The altercation left Cardi with a sizeable knot on her forehead. So prominent, it could be seen in the now iconic photographs of the rapper leaving the party barefoot, with her head held high.

Needless to say, having these two mega-artista’s come together for a duo would surely break records (and probably the internet). We just saw “WAP” dominate Spotify, YouTube, and the music industry, and that was Cardi and the up-and-coming girl. Now, Imagine Cardi and the Queen?

But before we get too excited, at this point of time, it’s all hear-say; there’s actual no proof that this duo is dropping a collaboration anytime soon. We’re working off hints and rumors’ here.

Have a look at this tweet from Cardi B:

She posted this after some back and forth with fans on Twitter. The topic of discussion? The friction between her fans (#Bardigang) and Nicki Minaj’s fans (the #Barbz). So what is a fan like me supposed to think when she says she’s got a new single, that could be a collaboration, and it’s going to have her fan base sick? It’s either a song with Offset or Nicki Minaj, right? The rest of the rumours hinge on a song called “Lavish” listed on the music info site Genius for a short time before being removed, and an alleged “leaked” snippet of said song has been floating around the Twitterverse. But anybody could make a page on Genius, and these days a 13 year old with a laptop and a Twitter account can trick people into believing they have an alleged “leaked” snippet.

If there does end up being some truth to this (fingers crossed!), it would be a huge moment for female rap. I believe the feud between these ladies was started by toxic fan bases more than any action or statement from either party. Obsessed and immature stans have become a cancer on the entertainment industry, especially the music business. We’ve seen the way Selena Gomez stans have treated Hailey Bieber and how Justin Bieber fans have treated Selena. Lady Gaga fans wrote fake bad reviews of Venom when it was released the same weekend as A Star Is Born. Ariana Grande fans reportedly sent messages to Pete Davidson, telling him to kill himself after his relationship with the singer ended. But most commonly the stans pit women against each other. For some reason there’s been this narrative that only one female rapper can be at the top of the charts, and even now that there’s two, the stans not only make the women at war, but they want every new female emcee to pledge allegiance to one or the other. Megan Thee Stallion addresses this in her NYT op-ed (published yesterday) about protecting Black women:

“In every industry, women are pitted against one another, but especially in hip-hop, where it seems as if the male-dominated ecosystem can handle only one female rapper at a time. Countless times, people have tried to pit me against Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, two incredible entertainers and strong women. I’m not ‘the new’ anyone; we are all unique in our own ways.”

What would make the hope of this collaboration better is if Cardi and Nicki took their journey and put that into the song. Imagine a record about healthy competition among women, and being driven to make better art because your competitor is challenging you to be your best self. It would be epic to witness them go back and forth on a track like Brandy and Monica in “The Boy Is Mine,” except the boy isn’t part of this more modern conversation. We’d get the spectacle of two titans of the music industry coming together, but after you peel back that layer there’s more to digest. If Cardi and Nicki have anything in the works, it’s going to be bigger than “WAP”; just looking at the combined metrics of their fanbases and the anticipation for such an event, but give it some substance and this moment would become its own chapter in the female rap history books.

Speaking of “WAP,” Cardi and Megan’s smash hit single is already one of the biggest songs of the year, but it won’t be competing for any Grammys this winter because it wasn’t submitted for consideration. Weirdly, it’s being reported that Cardi’s label wants to submit the song for consideration next year as part of a major push for her yet-to-be-released sophomore album. We have to wait until the 2022 Grammys to see if “WAP” gets some wet-ass-love from the academy, and I don’t like that. There have been so many accusations against Cardi’s label (Atlantic Records) when it comes to payola and other less than savoury promotional efforts. This overly strategic move leaves a bad taste in my mouth. However… if this Nicki Minaj collaboration rumour proves to have some substance and we do get the two of biggest female rappers out right now on one song, that plus “WAP” being in consideration could really shake the table at the 2022 Grammys.

Breaking News: Showtime announce return of Michael C. Hall role in ‘Dexter’

Published

Dexter

Sharpen your knives, “Dexter” fans.
America’s favorite meticulous serial killer Dexter Morgan is making his return in 2021 with a limited series on Showtime.  Michael is set to reappear in his infamous role as Dexter Morgan in a 10-episode revival of Dexter , the network announced on October 14. The series will begin production within 2 months and hopes for a fall 2021 premiere.

Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago,”

Showtime president of Entertainment said in a statement on Wednesday. “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world!”

If any series deserves the opportunity to give its protagonist a new ending, it’s Dexter. Diehard fans of the cult classic were split on the fate of Michael C. Hall’s lovable serial killer Dexter Morgan when the show originally culminated.

The original series aired for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013, following the complicated journey of Dexter Morgan, who helped the Miami police force by day and murdered people by night. In the series finale, the character faked his own death and became a lumberjack.

The show took home four Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and one Screen Actors Guild Awards during its run.

In 2014, Hall, now 39, opened up about the series’ end — which many believe is one of the worst finales of all time — admitting that he felt “sadness” when he read the final scene.

“Given what he had been through and his attempts to have his cake and eat it too in regards to indulging his compulsion to kill and have a more authentic life, his self-imposed exile did resonate”

the Six Feet Under alum shared during a Reddit AMA in 2014. “I think Dexter came to believe that … anything he touched would eventually be destroyed and so he felt he needed to let it all go. Of course, Dexter is also a pragmatist and a self-preservationist so he didn’t do himself in. But rather put himself on hold.”
